Recently, I was looking over some photos with Andre Lacroix when I came across this one from his youth hockey coaching days in Cleveland, OH. I asked Andre for the back story and it turns out to be very interesting. Here's what he had to say: "I coached youth hockey for many years and I never selected captains. Why not you ask? Well, I believed that ALL of my players had leadership qualities. By the 2014-15 season, a lot of my previous Bantam-level players had gone on the play High School hockey. One day one of the kids said to me, "Coach Andre, do you realize how many kids from our team are the captains of their high school teams? When we added up the total I was amazed -- and proud -- to count no less than 12 of my former players were now high school captains! Later that year, all of these great kids were invited to take a team photo at our home rink. I was so proud of each of them for the leadership they showed for their respective teams. It was a moment that we all treasured because we know we all accomplished something special."
