The Pro Hockey Alumni Association (PHAA) connects hockey legends with kids and communities communities throughout North America via charity fundraisers, youth hockey clinics and inner city street hockey programs. The PHAA is comprised of pro hockey players who played in the NHL, WHA, AHL, WHL, NAHL, IHL, CHL, KHL, SHL, NWHL, CWHL and more. In addition to ex-players, the PHAA is open to former coaches, trainers and broadcasters.
We believe that our greatest reward is watching a youngster learn the great game of hockey while learning lessons that will help make them a better person. Hockey, it's value, heritage and heroes, will always endure and the PHA knows that by preserving and protecting what is best about the game we can remain a valued member of the hockey family.
Our Mission
The Pro Hockey Alumni Association (PHAA) was formed in 2014 to:
- Promote the game of hockey, especially in urban areas.
- Raise money for charity.
- Inspire and educate youth through positive sport images.
- Assist former players in their transition to life after hockey
- Protect the dignity of the game through former players. The PHAA establishes a place where a player's drive for excellence and achievement on the ice can continue long after their playing career ends.
